Catfish Island

Catfish is a must for any successful eatery in the Delta and there are lots of them around here. In fact a person could go from town to town just trying catfish places. Catfish and the South go together and one of the best around is located just north of Forest City, Arkansas.

Catfish Island is located along Highway One in Caldwell. Locals love this place and I was invited to try it with a friend who’s family has been coming here for a years.

I’d heard they had the best hushpuppies and I was excited to try them when the waitress brought them out. These are really really good.

This Catfish Island has a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. It’s just a nice place to relax and enjoy tasty Southern good.

The catfish plate came with slaw, fish and a baked potato. Onion along the side.

I strongly recommend trying this Delta cafe.

Catfish Island is located in Colt and sometimes Caldwell. Depends on who you talk to. That’s the Delta. Great place for catfish though.
