The Helena Museum is a large two story museum located in downtown Helena, Arkansas. It dates back to the 1930s and offers a wide variety of exhibits from the Victorian Era, military uniforms, furniture, and lots of items from the Civil War.
As you walk through the front door of the museum, it is almost overwhelming. There is something amazing where ever you turn your eyes.
The Civil War and the Battle of Helena is a major part of the museum and covers the entire back area.
There is a large diorama of the Battle of Helena and even the Confederate cemetery. I love these type of things because it reminds me of my old days playing with toy soldiers. Plus, it made me really understand the Battle of Helena more by looking at it happen from up above.
The Helena Museum is located at 623 Pecan Street, Helena, Arkansas 72342. It is open Wednesday – Friday 10 am – 4 pm and Saturday 10 am – 2 pm. Admission is free.
